Golden Gate Splendor
For "Golden Gate Splendor", I decided to feature the perspective from Crissy Field, which is located in the historic Presidio (Spanish for “fortified settlement”) of San Francisco. This popular beach and picnic area is located on the site of a former airfield used by the U.S. Army from 1921 until it was decommissioned in 1994. Nowadays, the only “flying” taking place at Crissy Field is from the numerous shorebirds and kite surfers skimming across the waters in the bay. The reliable breezes flowing through the Golden Gate also attract sailboats, which can be found most days navigating these iconic waters. The Presidio has become one of my favorite places to bring friends and family. It is a wonderful place to walk, picnic and explore with stunning views in almost any direction.
