Free Falling - Original
I love the changing colors of grape leaves in the Fall season, but the leaf itself has a wonderful shape and texture. In this painting, I decided to use a single color to depict the grape leaf with Payne’s Grey. This color harkens back to architectural blueprints, which are also rendered in great detail. A leaf study rendered in this value scale helps to bring out the essence of the leaf with different textures and techniques with palette knives and fine lines to capture the intricacy of the leaves.
